LOOK what came today in the mail!!! My winter boots----not too early I think. I sure hope these Crocs are going to keep my feet warm while I walk the boys.

Continue of the 40th Class Reunion

Marlene and I continued on visiting NY City on Tuesday---We drove in to Hoboken, NJ, and enjoyed visiting the CAKE BOSS' business. Yes we did get to go into the building finally after 2 attempts. It was very crowded and very, very expensive. Just to say we were there is a plus. We enjoyed visiting the Statue of Liberty that day also. The Lady in the habor is not as BIG as I thought she would be in my mind. She is beautiful. I was able to climb all the steps you need to for the observation deck. Oh, what a view. She is now closed at this time for 1 year to rebuild her touch.

On Wednesday, Marlene and I enjoyed a bus trip to NY CITY with most of the tour group a little older than us but we had a great time talking to the group. It was a horrible day for the weather. COLD, rainy, and the wind blowing 15 to 20 miles an hour. We enjoyed the 9-11 Memorial. The memorial is so impressive. All of those names on the memorial were way more than I could imagine. I just wish we could have seen the 9-11 memorial on a beautiful day. We spent a lot of time in TGIF enjoying refreshments and drying out. Even with the inclement weather we had a good time. Returned home at 10:00 p.m. after leaving at 6:45 on the bus.

The button above is on the street corner of the garment section of NY City. The other picture is Gamma is tried! She is resting in Battery Park!

CLASS REUNION!!!40th

Last week from Oct. 20-25 my best friend from high school visited. Marlene (Leister) Davis and I were best friends in high school---somehow we drifted apart with me getting married and having a family soooo young.

HOWEVER, we have come back together and enjoyed a beautiful 5 days together. We enjoyed our time and it has been 40 years since our 1971 graduation. The class is having a 40th class reunion but Greg and I will not be able to attend this time, so Marlene and I decided we would have our own CLASS REUNION. WE did started the day Marlene arrived. Greg, Marlene and I enjoyed lunch at the CheeseCake Factory and then onto the HudDucks of Albany. Above is our guide for the Duck Tour. We had a great time on the Ducks and then at the end splashed into the Hudson River.

Sunday Greg took us into NY City and we enjoyed the Staten Island Ferry--the only FREE thing in NY City. We also enjoyed watching and talking to the people in Occupied Wall Street (I am not very good in placing pictures where they are suppose to be).

On Monday we took the Amtrack into NY City and enjoyed the beautiful fall folliage on the way. It is a 2 hours and 15 train ride into the city. Drops you off at Penn Station and then we walked from 31 street to 59 street to Central Park. Oh, what a beautiful park.

Both of the girls are Vika. However, the young lady who will be coming to see us over Xmas is on the left. This is a better picture of her. She is just beautiful. We would love to have both of the girls but can only bring one this year. Unless God finds a way for us to bring both.

The young lady in the picture is Vika. She is 9 years old and is from Ukrania. She is an orphan. Her mother died several years ago and her father's rights have been terminated. She has 4 other sisters. Beautiful Vika lives in an ophanage in Ukrania with two other sisters. The other 2 sisters are in college somewhere in the Ukrania.

Greg and I are hosting Vika for 4 weeks, 2 weeks in December and 2 weeks in January. She will be joining our family for Christmas. This is has been on my bucket list for sometime. This year my wish has come true. Vika will come to America and will enjoy the United States for 4 beautiful weeks. We have promised we will return her to her country of Ukrania. I am sure it will be extremely hard. We only have a few more steps and all the paper work will be completed. What a beautiful Christmas present my husband has given our family.

She does speak some English but mainly speaks Russian.

If anyone else is interested in sponsoring one of the many children in the orphanage for 4 weeks for the Winter Visit we would be happy to discuss all the ins and outs of this LOVELY program.

Greg and I are so happy that we can make such a gift to a child like Vika.

A Vistor!!!

Tonight as I was doing dishes I looked out the front windows and saw a guest! Then all of a sudden Rufus also saw the guest and started to bark! Hope you can see the beautiful deer. He continued to drink from the pond and walk around the pond. It was a beautiful sight. I try to feed the deer and the other animals on a daily basis. I hope next time I can get a better picture of Bambi.

Co Pilot

b Greg and I decided on Friday, July 29, 2011, that the yard back in New Freedom, PA, need to be cut. So we loaded the boys and headed to PA. We arrived late and enjoyed dinner at our local bar and grill and in the AM we found out that the grass did not need to be cut. So we started to load the Expedition and MY JEEP----Oh, how I have miss the Jeep. That big black thing is too big for me. Well Greg stated he was taking practical things that he needed before the moving van would be coming at the end of August or early September. Well I decided to load up all of the plants I could in my JEEP who have been lacking TLC for the last month. "Little Bertha", road with me shot gun for 5 hours and 10 minutes. She did not complain about my driving and loved my music. She did not even look with her sad eyes when I ate my McDonald's food begging for a bite or 2. She arrived at East Schodack in one piece and is happy to say she is happy to be at home with that Lady who feeds her plant food atleast weekly. She was accompanied by several other friends who says thank you for coming and get us!!!! ( Just learning to do this blog thing. Did not get the pictures where I wanted.)

Walking the Walkway on Sunday!

On Sunday, July 24, 2011, Greg and I took a day trip in NY. We traveled to Poughkeepsie, NY, and enjoyed the Walkway Over The Hudson. I was not sure if I was going to be able to complete the walk. I am every scared of heights.
The Walkway Over the Hudson is the Longest elevated pedestrian Park in the World. The bridge is an old railroad bridge that has taken 35 years to become a walkway for Pedestrians. You actually walk over the Hudson River and you are 212 feet up in the air. The bridge was completed in October 2009. The walkway is 1.28 mile in length. On Fridays there is a farm market located on the bridge.
The view was totally unbelievable. Greg's railroad tracks are located on both sides of the river. It was beautiful, a little hot but was well worth the time. I did get a little sunburn. I have no pictures---camera was not charged. So not well planned.
If you are interested you can go to www.walkway.org. If you are ever in the area you should take the time to see.

FAST TRIP!!!

We left on Friday afternoon and returned to New Freedom, PA, a 6 hour trip. Arrived late but was able to sleep in our bed and watch some TV. I have not been able to watch any TV for over a week. Did I mess anything----just the news. And the news is not very enjoyable any longer. We stayed long enough on Saturday to cut grass and for Gamma to vaccum and dust the house that continues on the market. Oh, yes, Gamma had to deal with another inspector for the house in PA. CSX has thought up alot of different inspections for this house. I cannot wait for Sept. 17, 2011, then CSX will purchase our house in PA. , for a much reduced price----but it will be gone. I still have to go back for the furnance cleaning and a window replacement----neither have been scheduled as of yet. I probably should get them scheduled.

We returned back to East Schodack, NY, on Saturday evening tried and ready to go to bed.
Today is mowing grass here!!! and working in this yard that has not had any TLC for years. I have some bird feeders up already and enjoy watching the Cardinals and Blue Jays along with the Finches. I also have the hummingbird feeders up and I cannot keep the juices in the feeders.

I have planted several Hosta but the neighbors are laughing that they are still here----with the deer that live in our woods. I will have to keep you posted how long they lasted.

Hope to post pictures soon.

READING and READING

Since I have stopped working several weeks ago I purchased a Kindle. I think it is great. I have read already: Water for Elephants----someone who has worked in long term care will enjoy this book; Go the F*** to Sleep, funny, funny (Even Greg read it); The Help, I enjoyed the book very much; and I just finished my niece's book, Little Misty: My Big Red Button, very sweet story, cannot wait for her next book. I am going to start RidingLessons by Sara Gruen tonight or one of favorite's author, Augusten Burroughs on Take Five---I will decide tonight as I get ready for bed.
I love to read by never had the time or I never took the time.

For now I am going to do the other thing I enjoyed so much in my live----gardening---I have a bunch of 25 cent prenenials that I purchased from Price Chopper for the new house in New York.

HERE IN NEW YORK

I never thought I would have a blog but decided to join the fast moving world and HERE I AM.

I have arrived in East Schodack, NY. I am no longer working at this time and I have a hard time thinking we have moved three previous times and I continued to work through the whole process. I have a huge job just keeping the appoints with who is fixing what and who is shutting off/turning on at the 2 houses.

I have meet the landlord's wife and 4 little kiddos. The kids range from 4 to 9 and there are 3 boys and the little 4 year old is the baby girl, Patricia. They are all very sweet.

I have already seen a deer in our yard and 2 wild turkeys. I placed a hummingbird feeder and have had luck in seeing numerous hummingbirds. The bull frogs keep up their part in the pond out front of the house.

The boys, Murphy and Rufus love it here. They never want to come in from their walks.

Will keep you posted!!!
